Steps French Winemakers Are Making To Dominate The Global Markets

The French has controlled a large share of the wine market, not only in France, but also in Europe and other countries of the world. French wine are known for their distinguished taste which is preferred by wine drinkers all over the world.

Among those that stand out is Bordeaux wine, where the largest and oldest wine cultivating region in the world is. Through the years, the market for French wine grew even larger.

In recent years however, there has been a steady decline in the markets for French wine. Whether it is because other countries have started their own wine production or some other reason, this has resulted in losses for the French wine industry.

Winemakers in France are clamoring for a change in French policies which have not been favorable to the marketing of French wine.

The governments ban on advertising alcoholic products has placed a dent on the wine industry. They feel that wine products should be exempted because this limits their ability to reach out to local and international markets. How can they expect to get a market share when many people don't even know they exist?

Another proposal of winemakers is to change the information displayed in the back labels of wines. By specifying the type of grapes used in the wine rather than the region they were made in, winemakers feel they can tap the US, Australian, and South African markets even more.

Many have always and still do prefer French wine over others but the existing rules and regulations do not provide a way for winemakers to increase their hold on the wine markets.

The wine industry is hopeful that once the changes in regulations occur, French wine will dominate market share all over the world again.
